The three Mantova Lectures which Alessandro Baricco gave at the Mantua Philosophy Festival are going to be presented to the audience of the Teatro dell’Opera of Rome on 17, 24 and 31 October 2016 at 9 p.m. The initiative is a co-operation between the Teatro dell’Opera of Rome, the Scuola Holden of Turin and the P.R. Agency Elastica of Bologna.
The three lectures will focus on “ Truth”: -The Map of the London Underground -; on “Narrative”: -Alexander the Great – and on “Happiness”: -The Deposition by Rogier van der Weyden-.
Like The Palladium Lectures, presented in January 2013 in Rome, “The Mantova Lectures are not lessons” says Alessandro Baricco “They are a journey of the mind, an experience recreated in public, inside a theatre, for an hour and a half.”

In the show, a real pleasant and explosive music triumph, according to the moments, enriched by a show of lights and special effects like a rock concert, the lineup cover a wide-range of the music of the artists that 2Cellos like to re-arrange with their unmistakable style: from Bach to Rolling Stones, from Morricone to Ac/dc, via U2, Sting, Avicii, Piazzolla and many others. Among these, of course, the latest single Whole Lotta Love mash-up between the legendary Led Zeppelin song and Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, recreated with the typical sounds that make unique 2Cellos.
