Patti Smith, Homage to Rome – An evening of words and music with Patti Smith. Jesse Smith on the piano is the title of the concert / reading that the great singer and poet will perform at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma on Wednesday, December 13, accompanied by piano by her daughter Jesse. It will be an acoustic concert, a pre-Christmas tribute that Patti Smith wants to make to the Roman public. With closed curtain, the artist will sing and read from the raised orchestra pit and will be closer to the audience, keeping the intimate atmosphere of a poetry reading.
Real rock icon, the High Priestess in rock for over forty years, has crossed the punk and has analyzed the world in all its forms of art, through music, photography, poetry, novels, painting and sculpture, leaving an indelible sign in every expression. Loving, influential and idealistic, Patti Smith is a true rock myth for all generations and, among the most influential artists of all time, songwriter and poetess.
On June 14 and 15, Paolo Conte with his Orchestra – who will host for the occasion exceptional musicians – will play alive at the Terme di Caracalla for the only summer concert in Italy in 2018. The singer will celebrate the fifty years of Azzurro, the first track, played in 1968 by Adriano Celentano, which brought fame to him in Italy and around the world.
